Clarissa Levi
Clarissa Levi (formerly Clarissa Vallat) is a highly experienced practitioner in the field of art and heritage taxation. She provides guidance on the UK tax and valuation issues applicable to art, including the tax exemptions and reliefs available for heritage objects.
Clarissa began her career advising on trust and tax law at Charles Russell LLP, having trained as a solicitor at Allen & Overy LLP. For over 11 years she advised at Sotheby’s where she was a Senior Director in Tax, Heritage & UK Museums. Clarissa joined BHL Art Group in 2023.
Clarissa’s first degree was in Modern Languages from Oxford University, and her second degree was in Law. Before qualifying as a solicitor in the UK she worked in law firms in France and Spain. Among other professional bodies, Clarissa is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners; Professional Advisors to the International Art Market; Art Lawyers Association; and the Heritage Group of lawyers. Clarissa is a distinguished writer, lecturer and public speaker on heritage taxation issues.
